ADIDAS TO LAUNCH LIMITED-EDITION SNEAKER

NEW YORK, September 15, 2008 –VIBE today announced adidas is launching a limited-edition sneaker on September 25th commemorating the magazine’s 15th Anniversary. This special, limited-edition shoe will capture both VIBE’s and adidas’ rich history and respect for hip hop culture.

The adidasForum Mid XVIBE will debut for the suggested retail price of $125. Only 1,500 pairs will be availableatadidas Originals stores in select markets nationwide and www.shopadidas.com.
For over 20 years, adidas has endured a strong relationship with hip hop. To celebrate its longevity and VIBE’s position as a pioneer for hip hop culture, adidas was pleased to collaborate and release the Forum Mid XVIBE.
VIBE.com will host an online charity auction of a special 15th Anniversary shoe signed by music stars T.I., Estelle, Swizz Beatz, Cassie, Young Berg, Pepa (Salt & Pepa) and Musiq Soulchild amongst other celebrities and VIBE Editor-in-Chief Danyel Smith. The auction will begin Monday, September 15th and continue through Friday, September 26th at 12PM. The site will feature exclusive, never-before-seen video highlighting the inspiration for the shoe, along with comments from the celebrities themselves.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit THE POINT, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth development and the cultural and economic revitalization of the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx in New York City.
