Cash wants to “LeBron James” a Cleveland hip hop scene that hasn’t kissed a trophy since Bone Thugs-N-Harmony was at the crossroads. Though his debut is a game effort, Cash struggles to leave a lasting impression. For many new artists, reppin’ a city is hard. Ray's "Cash on delivery" is not some Atlanta snap ya fingaz get rich quick scheme. It is a portrait of a little known corner of the midwest that has been forgotten since the bone thugs ripped on to the scene in the mid 90's. Although his album lacks the pop sound that makes clubs jump it does how ever contain tracks that play straight to your soul. "Livin' my life" and "A better day" these are as raw as they are sensitive and meaningfull. My favorite song on the album has to be "Fiends fiends fiends" as it chronicles the reallity that many people in cleveland live and its ironic ups and downs. I look foward to seeing if ray can manage to rep cleveland right. as it stands he carries us on his shoulders.
