Bow Wow & Omarion, "Face Off" (Music)

Face Off delivers a barely legal version of The Best of Both Worlds.

It was only a matter of time before hip hop’s favorite pint-size playa and miniature dance machine came together for a barely legal version of The Best of Both Worlds. And, regardless of their ultra-polished pop image, Face Off has something in common with Jay-Z and R. Kelly’s ill-fated duet album— it’s raunchy and rambunctious. But unlike what came before, Face Off is more fun than forced, full of exuberant dance ditties and trainingbra snapping lullabies.

Bow and O get equal shine, passing the mic back and forth, creating some slick harmonies. On “Listen,” Bow Wow makes a booty call, seductively growling at a lady. On “Can’t Get Tired Of Me,” Omarion coos in the cut, running in with choruses so velvety, you can picture the sweat dripping off his arched brow in the sound booth. Over Rude and T-Pain’s violins and slap bass production “Take Off Your Clothes,” Bow Wow claims he’ll “beat it on up like a Everlast punching bag” and even happily offers to “go downtown”—which we’re guessing wouldn’t require much kneeling. Omarion then slips in to sing about his ménage a trios dreams. Seems these two have finally done some growing up. Maybe too much.
