Image Entertainment is thrilled to be working with Tamia on her first independent project,” said George Steele of Image Entertainment via a press release. “Our extensive relationships with retail and digital partners enable us to cross-promote Tamia’s new album on an unprecedented number of levels.” left The soulful chanteuse, who co-wrote the entire album alongside Grammy-winning producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and songwriter Shep Crawford, credits her decision to go indie to wanting more creative control. “When I took a step back from the music scene, I realized how disposable the industry had become and decided to go back into the studio in an effort to create songs that are a reflection of where I am in life both personally and professionally – a mother, wife, friend, and now, entrepreneur," said Tamia. And when it comes down to her personal life, Tamia isn't ashamed to admit myspacing is yet another reflection of hers. "In the past few days I have become a MySpace junkie," said the pint-sized siren during an exclusive Vibe.com interview. "Once I began to create my page (myspace.com/therealTamia), I was stuck on it. "MySpace is so time consuming," she added. "I can barely manage my 4 friends, now I’m adding 50 more every time I sign in. I have music from my new album on the page as well as pictures with my family and friends. I’m proud of my page.” As far as the relationship with her production team goes, Tamia says the great chemistry between Jerkins, Crawford and herself is part of the reason why she titled her album Between Friends. "I love working as a part of the team," she stated. "Shep and I just clicked. I had that same energy working with Rodney." And with 'friends' being the topic of conversation, Tamia had this to say about the recent series of events surrounding former collaborator Fabolous: “I have nothing but love for Fabolous. I still appreciate the energy and love he has shown in remaking ‘So Into You’ and making sure that I was a part of it every step of the way. So I wish him well.” “Can’t Get Enough,” the album’s sultry first single, is currently in rotation on urban AC formats across the country and was the #1 added new single to radio stations the week of September 19. Between Friends hits record stores Tuesday, November 14.
