Beanie Sigel's supervised release was extended today after he was questioned in federal court about a drug test and a police questioning.
In Oct. 2004, the rapper, 32, was sentenced to 12 months and a day, plus two years of supervised release, on drug and gun charges. The US Probation Office in Philadelphia asked for a hearing yesterday to change his supervised release status, saying he failed to notify his probation officer that he had been stopped by police on August 20. According to police, he was accompanied by several people, including a convicted felon.
In December, Sigel tested positive for morphine and codeine, but Sigel told US District Court Judge R. Barclay Surrick that the drugs were prescribed by his doctor. Sigel's attorney provided the court with a copy of the prescription and a letter signed by his doctor.
The judge sentenced Sigel to six more months of supervised release.
