On Friday, a more than three-months-pregnant Foxy Brown was slapped with a year in Riker's for violating probation relating to her fight with her manicurist in NYC three years ago. It was the unfortunate climax to a series of scuffles - including the alleged glue-throwing in a Florida beauty shop, and the alleged cell-slapping of a woman in Brooklyn - that finally pushed Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson to the limit. "I'm not going to give you any more chances," she told Foxy at the hearing. "I hope you turn your life around and never again have to stand in a court of law."
For her part, Foxy, born Inga Marchand, plead to the judge her willingness to change. "I'm willing to do whatever I need to do to change… I realize that's not where I want to be. It's humbled me in ways I never imagined."
However, after the fights and several infractions against her probation, including leaving the state without permission, and failing to notify her probation officers that she had been arrested, and skipping out on her anger-management courses - Judge Jackson wouldn't budge. "Ms. Marchand, it's too little, too late," she told Fox. "I'm glad you're learning something; that's a positive."
Foxy, who's been at Riker's since August 22, had informed the court of her pregnancy last month. There was no mention of the pregnancy in this hearing. She's eligible for parole in eight months, ensuring the birth of her child within prison walls.
