Singer and actress Jill Scott divorced from her husband of five years last year, but last Saturday she announced to a New York audience she was hopping the broom again.
The soul diva told a crowd who’d come to see her at Carnegie Hall last week, that she was engaged to her drummer, John Roberts (a.k.a. Lil John). Scott and Roberts became an item following her divorce from her ex-husband, Lyzel Williams.
According to Rolling Stone, Roberts- halfway through the set- brought Scott out a bouquet of flowers and gave her a kiss. Scott, as if on-cue, then turned to the crowd and gushed that they were getting married.
Roberts reportedly presented Scott with the flowers during her performance of “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat).”
