Warner Music Group announced on Tuesday that it has promoted Lyor Cohen, WMG’s head of U.S. Recorded Music, and elected a new vice chairman.
Cohen will now add Great Britain and Latin America to his badge of responsibilities in a move slated towards Warner Music’s international restructuring. Cohen’s new responsibility will be overseeing UK and Latin America’s recorded music operations, as well as his current responsibilities of handling the United States and Canada.
The New York Times has reported that Michael Fleisher, the former Chief Financial Officer and Executive VP, will now be vice chairman, previously held by Patrick Vien who will be leaving the company.
"This new structure recognizes the evolution of our business since WMG became a stand-alone music company in 2004, and is intended to drive our ability to seize new growth opportunities," WMG’s CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. said.
