Rapper sued for alleged breach-of-contract

Lil Kim was hit with a $2 million lawsuit Tuesday, from an independent record label accusing the rapper of breach-of-contract.

According to the New York Times, the rapper has also been served an injunction that will temporarily thwart her from recording new music. Brookland Media filed suit stating that Kim was given a $300,000 advance to make a new album under their label. The money was also to buy out her existing contract from Atlantic Records, but by the end of summer it claims she only had three new tracks.

The rapper has been scheduled for a preliminary hearing November 5.
