In what is arguably the first upset of VIBE’s Best Rapper Alive Tournament, Diddy received more votes than Jim Jones for the final spot in the 64-man bracket. With close to 4,000 votes over the course of five days, and at least three different lead changes throughout the week, Diddy narrowly beat out his opponent by 79 votes.
The man who once rhymed, “Don’t worry if I write rhymes, I write checks” is now moving on to go against number one seeded Jay-Z in the Notorious B.I.G. bracket. First round voting for all 32 match ups in all four brackets begins today at 11 a.m. and will end on Saturday at 12 a.m. To cast your vote for who is The Best Rapper Alive go to www.vibe.com/bestrapper. The winner of the competition will be announced in the November issue of VIBE Magazine.

This is like a slap in the face if you think about it becase Diddy isn't a real rapper. He even said he was not a rapper. If I was Jim Jones I would be hot as hell to lose to Diddy because this is a joke.....
Rappers are gonna be upset. Real HIP-HOP Fans is not gonna be happy about the results because like I said before, if you know Nelly, but don't know a damn thang about Crooked I, then how is that fare game? You got underground rap mixed with Top #1 (One-hit wonders-teen boppers) matched up against each other, and then you want the public to vote the greastest rapper alive. We can hate on Lupe and Joe Budden all we want, but the truth is the truth. This competition is Bias.....They say the top 64, but they put Scarface (my favorite Houston M.C) on and not Rakim! Everybody knows that Rakim should be in the competition. Plus, you forgot DMX and Too Short, but yet we gotta choose between Diddy and Bow Wow. And you got Lil Mama before EVE, Remy Ma, Shawna or Rah Digga. This is HIP-HOP and I think y'all got the game f**ked up.......Diddy admitted he was not a rapper but clearly an entertainer. It's way too many opinions in the Vibe Office and I think this was not planned out very well. Once the winner is put out in the Vibe, all hell is gonna break loose. There is no great one rapper alive because it's too many different types of rappers in the business. Y'all should have stuck with The Best Female MC, The Best Old Skool, The Best Hard Core, THe Best Teen Booper, The Best Rap Entertainer, The Best Underground, The Best EAST-WEST-SOUTH-and MID-WEST Rappers, ect..... This would have been alittle more of a fair challenge to the readers of Vibe Magizine. It's easier to beef with someone when you got Lil Wayne going up against T.I for the Best lyrics in the business today. People can put out good points on both sides. Well, we all know he is NOT a rapper -- so it's OBVIOUS that Puff simply has enough folks who are willing (or TOLD???) to vote for him...This just goes to show that the real rappers out there need to have their fans STEP UP and vote. Not just talk ish about the process!!!

and even the mediocre songs were all written by somebody else
the one person whos very well known for using all types of ghostwriters is diddy
